Psychological and social attributes of supported employment regarding employers and employees of companies where it is provided

Supported Employment is one of the main tools of active labour market policies for the people who are disadvantaged or with disabilities. It aims to aid people are disadvantaged when finding employment themselves, provides assistance when looking for and choosing the right employment and with preparations for its execution, facilitation of the first contact with employer and colleagues, and ongoing support not only to the person with disability, but also to his colleagues and superiors who will be in contact with him. The thesis focuses on the issue of supported employment and its relation to diversity management, which covers the topic of management of employing the minorities and disadvantaged groups. From this perspective the thesis discusses the attitudes and prejudices, that often pose a barier to supported employment and effective interaction of people with disabilities and without. Research aims to explore these attitudes and to explore the support, that employers and employees working in the companies there the supported employment takes place are provided. Manažment diverzity v pobočke nadnárodnej spoločnosti

The main objective of this thesis was to analyze the diversity management in a chosen company from the management's perspective. Also the main goals, values and activities of this system were analyzed. The chosen company is an IT global company that has subsidiaries all around the globe; these subsidiaries each have their own small, local adaptation of diversity management. After the diversity management was analyzed from the company's perspective, the other objective was to analyze the perception of its employees. These two outputs were compared to each other afterwards and key findings were discussed. Quantitative methods, which were partially supported by own experience in the company, as well as informal interviews with its employees, were used for the research. A quantitative research with 93 respondents proved that the diversity strategy in the company is developed, however still some room for improvement has. In the end of the thesis recommendations, based on a SWOT analysis were carried out.

Nowadays more women are entering workforce compared to the past. However they face many problems when building their careers. The aim of the thesis was to describe this topic in a complex way, explain problems that are related to women's career and also name reasons for companies why they should pay attention to it. The thesis includes a case study of an international employer in Slovak republic that describes the company's attitude to the topic.
